I think that the people that end up on those My Strange Addiction-esque shows do have a problem beyond vanity, because there’s a line between those that can tan every few weeks to have that glowy look, and those that think they need to be in a solarium daily and applying fake tan in their spare time. So there is a reason why you’d be taught to refuse certain people service - especially for sunbeds given the dangers - if they were there too often, because it’s bad for their health and the salon would possibly have a law suit on their hands if they ignored regulations to enable those people and one of them was burned badly or developed problems later on due to tanning.
